So I noticed my serpentine belt is very loose. After inspection I see that this part (http://imgur.com/gallery/m8GZhws) has fallen out of place and has a small crack in it. Should I just pop it back on and put the belt back or get a replacement for this part? The belt looks fine and the part just slides on and off very easily. so i do live in wintery conditions. started noticing problems as winter hit; my muffler is currently hanging a bit, since i got stuck in snow countless numbers of times, we got like almost 2 feet of snow the past couple weeks… nothing severe though.. just a little loud obviously. but after i noticed this, i started noticing my rpm’s jumping as i step my foot off the gas, and sometimes the rpm’s like to raise high before the mphs do. i also noticed as my car starts to heat up, my car likes to mad... My tensioner pulley broke so I replaced it, the old belt on it looked kind of worn so I bought a replacement. The old belt has 5 ribs and the new belt has 6 ribs, when i put the new one on it started squeeling so i poured water on it to see if it was the belt and it stopped squealing for a short while, i put the old belt back on and it doesn't squeal. Is this because of the 5 rib factor or maybe a bad new belt, or something else? Thanks
